Sage Media Center Control Plugin for HomeSeer E-mail
HomeSeer Scripts and Plugins

Description

The Sage MC Controller plug-in is a .NET plug-in for HomeSeer that allows you to control one or more windows media center systems or extenders.

  • Control multiple media centers on different PCs and any media center extenders attached to them
  • Track the status of the media centers and extenders including play state, mode, media information, and current position
  • Simulate button presses such as transport controls, navigation, channel, volume, etc.
  • Display dialogs on the media center.  These dialogs can display text as well as an image.  Buttons can be put on the dialog to capture response.
  • Configure media center events using both standard and custom triggers and actions.

Here are some examples of what you could do with this plugin.  You may think of others…

  • Turn off the lights when you start playing a movie.  To do this you would check the current play state to see if it changed to play.  You would also likely want to check that it is in video mode so that it doesn’t happen when you play a TV show.
  • Turn the lights to dim when you press pause on a movie – Time to get a snack.
  • Synchronize the mute of your A/V receiver and your media center.  You may want to press mute because you get a call from your mother, but would still like to keep up with show.  Pressing mute on your receiver will mute the sound, but pressing mute on the media center can put it into closed caption mode so you can still read what is going on.
  • Display a dialog with a snapshot of the front door camera when someone presses the doorbell.  You may further want to add a button to this dialog to allow you to press a button on your media center remote to unlock the door.

Sage Insteon Thermostat Plugin for HomeSeer
HomeSeer Scripts and Plugins

HSTouch Interface

Description

This plugin adds support for the Insteon 2441V Thermostat Adapter.  It supports one to many thermostats in an installation.  Following is a list of the features…

  • Supports real-time updates of thermostat changes made at the physical thermostat.  (Requires v2 of the 2441V or greater)
  • Support polling the thermostat for changes.  This can be used when a very old thermostat, (prior to status update v2), or just to make sure things are in sync.
  • Supports receiving heat, cooling, and fan call from the thermostat.
  • It supports the standard HomeSeer thermostat API and should be compatible with any standard or add-on functionality that is designed to work with this API.
  • Standard devices can be created to interact with the thermostat.  These provide visibility to the status of the thermostat as well as allowing control of the thermostat through the devices.  The devices are useful in many situations, but are optional.
  • Custom actions are added to the HomeSeer event interface to allow easy changes of thermostat values.
  • Custom triggers
  • Extended functionality not supported directly by the thermostat
  • Support for system-controlled program.  Multiple programs can be configured.  These programs can be controlled via standard event conditions such as time-of-day, day-of-week, etc.  These can also be controlled via other non-scheduled type event conditions.  These can also be controlled via the scripting interface.  Control multiple thermostats using a single program like a scene.
  • Support for hold/run mode.  This allows for a temporary suspension of the program mode.  The system will continue to track the desired program mode, but will not put it into effect until the system is put back into “Run” mode.
  • HVAC Units can be defined in a one-to-many relationship between HVAC units and thermostats.
  • Thermostat template provided to ease integration into HSTouch screens.  In addition, there is a root device added to support integration in the latest distributed HST projects.
  • In addition to the standard thermostat API support, there are many other scripting APIs that allow for extended functionality and easier interface.
  • Integration into the updater and a standard plugin setup program that allows for easy installation and uninstallation.
